Meet Senator John Braun
John is President of Braun Northwest, a local family owned company specializing in building emergency vehicles. Braun Northwest has been in business since 1986 and employs over 150 workers.
Prior to his business career, Braun served on active duty in the U.S. Navy. He continues to serve as a Commander in the Navy Reserve, currently as the Commanding Officer of the NR Deep Submergence Unit in San Diego, California.
John earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Washington and master’s degrees in Business Administration and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Michigan.
John is not a career politician and does not aspire to be one. He believes our elected officials should set priorities, go to Olympia, get the job done, and go home.
First elected to the State Senate in 2012, John is Vice Chair of the Ways and Means Committee where he has focused on creating responsible state budgets without raising taxes.
John and his wife, Marlo, and their four children live on a small farm in rural Lewis County.
